Frequently Asked Questions

[acc_item title=”How much does it cost?”]RideShare’s services are free to all. The only costs incurred would be among carpool and vanpool groups who are sharing the expense of gas, tolls, and/or a monthly van fare.[/acc_item]
[acc_item title=”Are participants screened?”]No. RideShare Delaware acts solely as a referral service for potential carpoolers and does not assume any liability.[/acc_item]
[acc_item title=”What if I don’t have a car? Can I still participate?”]Yes. RideShare will attempt to match you with program participants that have vehicles.[/acc_item]
[acc_item title=”What if I don’t have any matches?”]Commuters register every day with the program. If you don’t have a match at the time you register, chances are you’ll have one in the near future. Participants who want them are notified of all new matches as they become available.[/acc_item]
[acc_item title=”What if I change my mind after I register?”]No problem, just call our office and ask to be removed from the program.[/acc_item]
[acc_item title=”What happens if I start carpooling?”]Call our office and let us know so we do not continue to provide your name to others seeking partners (optional) and so we can forward your emergency ride home benefit information.[/acc_item]
[acc_item title=”Does RideShare provide transportation?”]RideShare Delaware does not have vehicles for use by program participants, nor do we pick individuals up and transport them. Participants use their own vehicles for carpool purposes. Vans used for vanpooling are obtained through 3rd party vanpool providers.[/acc_item]
