Notice of Public Hearing Workshop
Delaware Transit Corporation (DTC) will conduct a Public Hearing Workshop to obtain comments on a proposal for increasing existing service between Delmar and Georgetown, and to introduce Pilot Flex Bus Services in the Georgetown, Millsboro and Seaford areas to become effective Monday, November 10, 2014.
Wednesday, August 20, 2014 – 4 PM to 6 PM
Georgetown Public Library
123 West Pine Street
Georgetown, DE 19947
The proposal calls for:
Route 212 – Current service between Georgetown, Bridgeville, Seaford and Laurel would be extended to Delmar. The Seaford/Laurel/Delmar Shuttle, which operates Monday – Saturday, would be discontinued. Route 212 would operate weekdays on an hourly scheduled between 5:35 AM and 9:35 PM. The proposed schedule would offer connections to Routes 206, 303 and three new flex routes at the Georgetown hub.
Pilot Flex Services – Three routes would operate, one in Georgetown, another between Georgetown and Millsboro, and a third in Seaford, providing weekday, hourly service from 6 AM to 7 PM. Flex routes offer the ability to deviate off a designated route within a one mile corridor by reservation (same day reservations available). The fare would be the fixed route base fare, plus $1 per deviation. The service would offer connections to Routes 206, 212, 303 at the Georgetown Hub, as well as transfers between the Georgetown flex routes.
Seaford/Laurel/Delmar Shuttle (including Saturday Service) – The Shuttle would be discontinued, although its weekday service would be replaced by the extended Route 212 service to Delmar.
Service proposals are available for public review at Georgetown and Seaford libraries, Laurel and Nanticoke Senior Centers, Georgetown and Seaford State Service Centers, and online at www.DartFirstState.com.
