Delaware Transit Corporation (DTC) today announces changes to DART Statewide Bus Services that will
become effective Sunday, March 20, 2022.
After conducting two virtual Public Hearing Workshops and receiving customer feedback DART listened to its customers and the public, and as a result, some changes were made to the original proposal. The following are the approved service changes to be implemented. Modifications to original proposal are designated in italicized bold text:
Service Changes by County include:
New Castle County
The following bus routes will have schedule adjustments to improve on-time performance:
Weekdays – 4, 5, 6, 10, 13, 15, 25, 31, 33, 37, 40, 42, 46, 54, 55, 61 and 64
Weekends – 4, 8, 13, 15, 33, and 64 and 301
Route 9 – Timing adjustments will be made to accommodate weekday shift times at the new Amazon facility at Boxwood Road.
Routes 10 and 15 – Route 10 Saturday service to Reads Way and Route 15 Saturday and Sunday service to Reads Way will be discontinued due to low ridership and most businesses not being open on weekends. Service will continue along Commons Blvd.
Routes 13 and 61 – The Tri State Mall bus stop and Park & Ride will not be served due to the property redevelopment. Route 13 trips will continue the detour routing which begins and ends on Naamans Road at Montclair Drive near Northtowne Plaza. Route 61 will continue to circle around Society Drive before heading to Brandywine Commons or Claymont Station.
Route 25 – Trips heading to Wrangle Hill Park & Ride will be rerouted through Llangollen via Schafer Boulevard instead of Llangollen Boulevard, and all Route 25 trips will stop at the bus stop on DuPont Highway (US 13 South) at Llangollen Boulevard.
Route 33 – Trips to Wilmington will stop on the outside of DE 4/DE 896 Park & Ride instead of going into the Park & Ride. Trips to Newark will continue to go into the lot.
Route 37 – The route will be revised to serve the new North Middletown Park & Ride on AM trips to Wilmington and PM trips to Middletown. The proposal to limit service to/from Wrangle Hill Park & Ride will not be implemented based on customer comment; all Route 37 trips will continue to serve Wrangle Hill Park & Ride in each direction and ridership will continue to be monitored.
In Wilmington, Route 37 will serve the bus stop on 8th at King Street as requested by customers who work at the Carvel State Building and City/County Building. Due to time adjustments, the 7:00 AM trip from Amazon will be adjusted to depart at 7:15 AM.
Route 44 – The St. Georges “detour” routing will be discontinued as the streetscape project along Broad Street has been completed.
Route 46 – Weekday service adjustments will be made in the early AM to meet shift times for employers at the Pencader Corporate Center.
Route 47 – The 6:12 AM trip from Wilmington will be adjusted to depart at 6:30 AM for improved scheduling efficiencies and to better meet employer work shift start and end times.
Route 63 – Based on customer comment, the schedule will be revised to connect with the Route 301, 2:10 PM departure from Dover at the Odessa Park & Ride.
Route 64 – On Sunday, the 7:28 AM trip from Christiana Mall to Peoples Plaza will be discontinued due to low ridership; a new trip departing at 7:28 PM from Christiana Mall to Peoples Plaza will be added.
Holiday Service will be offered on Bus Routes 2, 4, 5, 6, 13, 15, 33, 40, 47 and 64 for Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4) and Labor Day. Service will operate on a Sunday schedule, where Route 47 will operate on a Saturday schedule.
Kent County – No schedule adjustments.
Sussex County – Route 303, schedule time adjustments to improve on-time performance.
Intercounty
Route 301 – Schedule time adjustments on some routes will be made to improve on-time performance and
connections.
Route 302 – The route will be revised to serve the new North Middletown Park & Ride on all trips. Also, the route will serve the existing bus stop on Mani Street at the Fulton Bank in Middletown per customer request.
Route 303 – The segment to Philadelphia Pentecostal Church will be discontinued due to low ridership and to improve running times. Schedule adjustments to improve on-time performance.
Route 305 – Schedule time adjustments to improve on-time performance.
New schedules will be available online and on buses after March 7.
