Get a Guaranteed Ride Home
No Worries, We Got This. If you are a registered Delaware Commute Solutions member with a fully completed profile, including your supervisor’s name, registered for 30 days prior to the day of your emergency ride need, and record at least two clean commute trips per week, Delaware Commute Solutions will reimburse you for the cost of a taxi or ride service home if an unexpected event prevents you from taking your planned commute home. You can use this benefit up to five times per year, with a yearly cap of $400.
Who Can Use It?
If you are a registered Delaware Commute Solutions member with a fully completed profile that includes your supervisor’s name, and you clean commute to work or college by bus, carpool, vanpool, train, bike, or by walking, you are eligible for Guaranteed Ride Home if an unexpected event occurs and keeps you from taking an alternate commute home from work or college (event example: unexpected overtime or illness).

How to Use GRH:
Registered commuters are required to use and track their clean commute in Delaware Commute Solutions at least two days per week and on the day, they need an emergency ride. Commuters have up to 30 days to record their trip to their account. Your Delaware Commute Solutions profile must be fully completed, including your supervisor’s name, to qualify for reimbursement.
On the day an emergency trip is needed, call a service provider (taxi or ride service like Uber or Lyft) nearest your work or school site. You will pay for your ride and then send us a copy of your receipt, along with the completed GRH Trip Reimbursement Form, by email or mail.
Or, you can be reimbursed by mileage, you indicate the trip origin and trip destination on your GRH Trip Reimbursement Form for a reimbursement amount to be calculated based on the “Standard Mileage Rate” set by the government IRS standard mileage rate for 2026. We will process your reimbursement quickly! Reimbursements are provided in the form of a virtual Visa gift card. For a small processing fee, you can also choose to have a physical Visa gift card mailed to you.
