The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces to motorists that paving, striping and related work between the I-495 split and Exit 8, US 202 Interchange will require the closure of I-95 Northbound through Wilmington. At least one on ramp to I-95 Northbound (either from 10th St./Adams St. or Delaware Avenue) will be available at all times during this closure. Motorists traveling on I-95 from south of the work zone will be detoured to I-495 Northbound.
Dates (pending weather) and Location:
I-95 Northbound OVERNIGHT CLOSURE – 9PM Thursday, October 27 to 5 AM Friday, October 28 between the I-495 split and Exit 8, US 202 Interchange.
I-95 Northbound WEEKEND CLOSURE – 9PM Friday, October 28 through 5AM Monday, October 31 between the I-495 split and Exit 8, US 202 Interchange.
Detours: Motorists will be directed to use I-495 Northbound.
UPON I-95 NORTHBOUND RE-OPENING ON MONDAY OCTOBER 31:
- MLK Boulevard on ramps to I-95 and Jackson St. on on ramp to I-95 southbound will remain CLOSED
- ALL LANES NORTHBOUND I-95 WILL BE OPEN
