Improved Route 32 – Wilmington Trolley

Wilmington, DE – Today at Rodney Square, Delaware’s Secretary of Transportation, Shailen  Bhatt, along with Wilmington Mayor Dennis P. Williams and other officials unveiled the improved Rt. 32 – Wilmington Trolley.  Trolley service now operates every 20 minutes Monday through Friday from 10:45 AM to 10:45 PM connecting Downtown Wilmington with the Riverfront, and with a lower fare of $1.  Downtown Visions and the other partners including Main Street Wilmington, Greater Wilmington Convention & Visitors Bureau, Wilmington Renaissance Corp., IN Wilmington, Riverfront Development Corp., and Mayor’s Office and City Council worked with DART to redesign the routing to make business, lodging, shopping, education and entertainment areas of Wilmington easier to access.  In hopes of expanding service hours and implementing weekend service, the partnership committed to promote the Wilmington Trolley in an effort to build ridership.

Secretary Bhatt, said, “It’s exciting to have this great partnership between DART and downtown Wilmington business groups.  It will be a win-win, promoting a fun and convenient transportation option for residents and visitors alike.”
