March 2015 DART Public Hearings Scheduled

Notice of Public Hearing Workshops

 

Delaware Transit Corporation (DTC) will conduct Public Hearing Workshops to obtain comments on proposed changes to DART Statewide Fixed Route Bus Services, including implementation of the seasonal Resort Transit, to become effective the week of Sunday, May 17, 2015.

 

Tuesday, March 10, 2015 – 4 PM to 6 PM

Wilmington Library, The Commons

Wednesday, March 11, 2015 – 4 PM to 6 PM

Georgetown Public Library

Thursday, March 12, 2015 – 4 PM to 6 PM

DelDOT Administration Bldg., Farmington/Felton Room

800 Bay Road (US 113), Dover 19901

 

The proposal includes (by County):

 

New Castle County

 

Minor time changes to improve on-time performance on Routes 17, 25 & 46.

 

Route 7 – no proposed changes; however, because of low ridership input is requested on future changes to improve the route.

 

Route 8 – would extend route into Southbridge along Heald and A Streets, contingent upon availability of accessible bus stops.

 

Route 32 Wilmington Trolley – no proposed changes; however, because of low ridership input is requested on improvements and future changes to extend the route into Trolley Square to increase connections to other routes.

 

Route 39 – would no longer serve Christiana Mall, staying on I-95 for more direct service between Newark and Wilmington.

 

Route 62 Churchmans Shuttle – adjustments to the route path would be made to increase efficiency serving Christiana Mall, 2nd & Charles, DelTech, Morgan Christiana Center, and making connections to the trains at Fairplay Station.  Service along Old Churchmans Road and within Center Pointe Plaza would be discontinued.

 

Route 63 Churchmans Shuttle – would be eliminated due to low ridership.

 

SEPTA Wilmington/Newark Line Bus (Route 59) – no proposed changes; however, input is requested on future changes to the “Train Bus” to serve additional stops between Newark and Fairplay Stations.

 

Kent County

 

Route 100 – would be eliminated due to low ridership; however, service to the area would be maintained as the Route 101 operates in the reverse direction.

 

Sussex County

 

Flex Route 901 – minor adjustments to route path would be made.

 

Flex Route 903 – minor time changes to improve connections with Route 212.

 

Route 212 – minor route path and schedule adjustments would be made to improve connections to Flex Route 903.

 

Resort Transit –Routes 201-208 operate seven days a week from Thursday, May 21 through September 13, 2015.  Please refer to the proposal for Resort schedule times.

 

Route 208 – resume service to the Indian River Campground.

 

Route 305 – Beach Connection – Route 305 operates between Wilmington and Rehoboth with one trip on Friday evenings; 3 trips on Saturdays; and 2 trips on Sundays and Holidays from May 22 to September 7.
