Delaware Transit Corporation (DTC) announced changes to DART Statewide Bus Services will become effective Sunday, December 17, 2017. Based on customer feedback received online and through DTC’s public hearing process, DART has reconsidered some of the changes, while making modifications to others, most notably affecting the following bus routes: Route 4 (combination of Routes 4 & 24), Route 10 (combination of Routes 10 & 23), New Route 13 (combination of Routes 1 & 22), Route 14, Route 15, Route 18 (combination of Routes 18 & 21), New Route 31, Route 45 and Route 301.
New Castle County – In efforts to improve operational efficiencies, reduce congestion and improve traffic flow, changes will be made to Downtown Wilmington bus stops and route alignments. Route Combinations:
Routes 1 & 22 will be combined as NEW Route 13 – Operating between Tri-State Mall and Wilton through Downtown Wilmington via Philadelphia Pk., Market St., and DuPont Hwy. Service to Claymont Train Station, Bellevue Corporate Center, and Bellefonte will not be served by this route (see NEW Route 31 for service to these areas). Service between Wilmington and Wilton will improve to every 30 minutes mid-day and Saturdays; and to every 60 minutes on Sundays. Time changes; Downtown bus stops changes.
Routes 4 & 24 will be combined as Route 4: Operating between Prices Corner (extended from Barley Mill Plaza to connect with Routes 6, 9 and 18) and Kynlyn Dr. (Edgemoor) through Downtown Wilmington via 4th St. and Governor Printz Blvd. Service along Greenhill Ave., 7th St., Woodlawn Ave. and Pennsylvania Ave. will be discontinued; however, Route 20 and new Route 52 will provide alternate service along Pennsylvania Ave. to access these areas. Service between Downtown and Edgemoor will improve to every 15 minutes during rush hour; every 30 minutes in the evening. Mid-day and Saturday service will operate every 30 minutes; Sunday service every 60 minutes. Time changes; Downtown bus stops changes.
Routes 10 & 23 will be combined as Route 10: Operating between Rising Sun Lane (Wilmington) and Wakefield Dr. (Newark) through Downtown Wilmington via Delaware Ave., Reads Way, Airport Rd., and DE 273. Service to Centreville will operate as NEW Route 52 from Amtrak Station. In response to customer feedback, additional early morning trips will be scheduled from Newark. Evening service to Wilton would be discontinued, as new Route 13 would provide additional service to this area. Saturday service would connect the west side of Wilmington to downtown and points south. Rush hour service would operate every 30 minutes; off-peak every 60 minutes. Routes 18 & 21 will be combined as Route 18: Operating between Polly Drummond Shopping Center (Pike Creek) and Cedar Tree Apartments (Foulk & Naamans Rds.) through Downtown Wilmington and Amtrak Station via New Linden Hill Rd., Prices Corner, Lancaster Ave., and Foulk Rd. In response to customer feedback, additional early morning trips will be scheduled from Amtrak Station to Claymont. Rush hour service will operate every 15-20 minutes; off-peak every 90 minutes. Service along Naamans Rd. east of Cedar Tree Apartments will be discontinued. Time changes; Downtown bus stops changes.
Route Changes:
Route 1: To be combined with Route 22 to become NEW Route 13 – See above route combinations
Route 2: Weekday morning rush hour service will improve to every 30 minutes; Downtown bus stop changes.
Route 4: To be combined with Route 24 as Route 4 – See above route combinations.
Route 5: Time changes
Route 6: New trip leaving Newark at 5 AM. Time changes; Downtown bus stops changes.
Route 7: Service will improve to operate every 45 minutes and route is extended to Wilmington DMV on U.S. 13. Service hours will increase to 6 AM to 7 PM, 2 hours earlier and 2½ hours later.
Route 8: No changes
Route 9: Time changes
Route 10: To be combined with Route 23 as Route 10 – See above route combinations.
Route 11: All weekday trips will serve Washington St. Extension and Rockwood Office Park in both directions. Downtown routing will change to use Market St. in both directions, instead of King and Walnut Sts. Mid-day service will decrease to every 45 minutes. Weeknight service between Lea Blvd. and Arden will be discontinued. Saturday service will operate every 75 minutes, with all trips serving Arden.
Route 12: Weekday service will decrease to every 60 minutes during the mid-day and evening hours.
Route 14: Time changes
Route 15: Downtown routing will begin/end on King St. at 9th St., no longer serving the former Post Office stop. In response to customer feedback, service to Jefferson Farms will continue to operate at existing service levels. Twin Spans Business Park will be served during weekday rush hours on trips to Christiana Mall in the AM and to Wilmington in the PM (including one AM trip). Saturday service will increase to every 60 minutes; Time changes.
Route 16: The 4:40 PM trip from Newark will be discontinued, and the 5:20 and 5:40 PM trips from Wilmington will be consolidated to a 5:30 PM trip due to low ridership.
Route 18: To be combined with Route 21 as Route 18 – See above route combinations.
Route 20: Two AM and two PM trips to Wilmington will be added; two PM trips to Hockessin will be added. Service to Chestnut Run will be discontinued to/from Hockessin, and will continue to/from Wilmington. Time changes; Downtown bus stops changes.
Route 21: To be combined with Route 18 as Route 18 – See above route combinations.
Route 22: To be combined with Route 1 to become NEW Route 13 – See above route combinations.
Route 23: To be combined with Route 10 as Route 10 – See above route combinations.
Route 24: To be combined with Route 4 as Route 4 – See above route combinations.
Route 25: Downtown routing will begin/end on King St. at 8th St., discontinuing current service north of 8th St. Trips serving Amazon will have time changes.
Route 28: New round trip added in AM rush hour from Amtrak Station at 7:53 AM and from AstraZeneca at 8:35 AM. Time changes; Downtown bus stops changes.
Route 30: To be discontinued and replaced by improved service on Route 18 (Combined Routes 18/21).
NEW Route 31: Weekday and Saturday service operating between Amtrak Station and Claymont Train Station via Bellefonte and Bellevue Corporate Center.

Route 35: Will provide more direct service between Brandywine Town Center and Wilmington via Shipley Rd., discontinuing service to Concord Mall, Brandywine Commons and Dartmouth Woods. Route 2 will provide alternate service to Concord Mall and Brandywine Commons. Rush hour service will improve to every 30 minutes. Time changes; Downtown bus stops changes.
Route 38: The 4:57 PM departure from Amtrak Station will change to 5:12 PM. Downtown bus stop changes.
Route 40: Time changes
Route 42: Downtown routing will begin/end on Orange St. at 10th St., no longer serving the Library stop on King St.; time changes.
Route 43: No changes
Route 44: Trip times will be coordinated with available resources, resulting in a new schedule. Service to the Target stop at Christiana Mall will be discontinued.
Route 45: Two AM and three PM trips added to Wilmington; one AM and two PM trips added to Odessa Park & Ride; Time changes.
Route 46: Time changes
Route 47: No changes
Route 48: Service to Chestnut Run will be discontinued, as Route 20 is a viable option; time changes.
Route 49: To be discontinued due to very low ridership.
NEW Route 52: New route will replace northern portion of Route 10 providing direct service to Centreville via Pennsylvania Ave. and Kennett Pk. Downtown routing will use Shipley St. to Amtrak Station; Orange St. to Centreville.
Route 53: Trip times will be coordinated with available resources, resulting in a new schedule.
Route 54: Route will be extended to Christiana Hospital and Fairplay Station; time changes.
Route 55: New AM trip from Wilmington.
Route 61: No changes
Route 62: No changes
Route 64: No changes
Kent County
Route 106: Time changes
Route 107: Will be extended to serve the Capital Park community and DelDOT Administration Building.
Intercounty
Route 301: Southbound routing will change leaving Scarborough Park & Ride, then DelDOT, ending at Dover Transit Center. Northbound trips will begin at Dover Transit Center, and those trips before 8:30 AM will not serve DelDOT Admin. Building in order to provide a faster trip for commuters travelling north. Weekday trips will be adjusted to improve on-time performance and connections at Dover Transit Center.
Route 302: No changes
Route 303: Time changes
Sussex County – Service enhancements include new stops: Georgetown Probation & Parole to be served by Routes 206, 901 & 902; Perdue (Georgetown) to be served by Routes 206, 303 & 901; and Lewes Transit Center to be served by Route 206. Time adjustments will be made to most routes to improve on-time performance.
