Air Quality Awareness Week
Hello Spring! The Air Quality Partnership of Delaware has announced Air Quality Awareness Week (AQAW) from April 30th to May 4th. RideShare Delaware along with the Air Quality Partnership will be awarding an Air Quality Awareness 2018 Champion Award to a business taking steps to improve air quality. The 2018 Champion will be able to proudly display their AQA Champion Trophy along with their company being highlighted through multiple social media sites and newsletters. Employers or businesses can self-nominate their work site for the opportunity to be recognized as the Air Quality Awareness 2018 Champion. All interested businesses must complete the attached AQA Criteria Checklist and submit to general@delawarecommutesolutions.org by April 16, 2018.
During that week, we are asking employers to encourage their staff to try a cleaner mode of travel to work (carpooling, transit, bicycling, walking, or telecommuting). And while they are at it, have someone snap a photo, or take a selfie to commemorate their activity. Then post the photo to social media with the hash tag #TryItDayDE. Employees posting selfies will be entered to win a free gift card. Bonus points will be given to employers whose employees log a clean commute in their RideShare Delaware account.
