Improved Weekend Service in New Castle County
Labor Day – Monday, September 7, 2020 – New this Labor Day, DART offers bus service in New Castle County on Routes 2, 4, 5, 6, 13, 15, 33, 40, and 47, using a Saturday schedule, with Paratransit operating complimentary ADA-only service. DART’s Beach Bus service and Route 305 Beach Connection will also operate, with complimentary ADA-only service for Paratransit. All other fixed route and paratransit services will not operate.
With the May 17, 2020 Service Change and the opening of the new Wilmington Transit Center, DART increases its current service levels. Specific route schedules can be found at DartFirstState.com or by calling 1-800-652-DART (3278).
Starting Thursday, April 2, DART will limit the number of passengers allowed on each bus at any given time, based on bus seating capacity.
Due to the presence of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Delaware, business closures, reductions in staffing and lower ridership levels, effective Wednesday, March 18, DART public transit services will operate on the following reduced service schedule until further notice. DART celebrates the anniversary of the launch of DART Pass, DART’s free mobile fare payment app. With DART Pass, riders can conveniently pay their bus fare from their phones. The app displays a digital pass on the phone’s screen, eliminating the need for a paper ticket or cash. Available on the free DART Transit app, DART Pass is convenient, easy to use and allows for faster boarding, enhancing the customer experience.
Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2019 – DART First State services, both fixed route and paratransit, will not operate on Monday, May 27, 2019, with the exception of the Beach Bus services, its related paratransit service, and the Route 305 – Beach Connection. Read for more information.
As the busy summer tourism season begins, DART’s daily Beach Bus service will be hitting the streets in full force, serving Rehoboth Beach and more. On Monday, May 20, buses will operate frequently from early morning to late night, 7 days a week, until September 8. All buses are air-conditioned, ADA accessible and equipped with bike racks.
After statewide Public Hearing Workshops, DART listened to its riders and the public; as a result, changes were made to the original proposal.
From Monday, April 8 to Friday, May 31, Amtrak track construction will impact SEPTA southbound train service to Fairplay Train Station at Churchmans Crossing. During this time, SEPTA will not be stopping at the Fairplay Station in the southbound direction. Bus service will be available from the Claymont and Wilmington Stations.
