Warm weather and sunny skies can only mean one thing; it’s beach season, and with that
comes the start of DART’s Beach Bus! As we get ready to roll out the 2021 summer season,
DART’s daily Beach Bus service will be on the road ready to provide a convenient, safe and
clean ride to visitors and residents.
April 13, 2021 (Georgetown, Del.) — Yesterday, Delaware Transit Corporation (DTC), in partnership with Via, the leader in TransitTech, launched DART Connect, the state’s first on-demand microtransit service that will transform mobility in the rural communities of Georgetown and Millsboro in Sussex County, Delaware.
Delaware Transit Corporation (DTC) will conduct two virtual Public Information Sessions on Tuesday, March 30 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM and Wednesday, March 31 from 5 PM to 6 PM via Zoom to share information about a new transit service, DART Connect, in and between Georgetown and Millsboro that will launch on Monday, April 12, 2021.
After receiving rider feedback at several outdoor Community Conversations and a virtual Public Hearing Workshop, DART has approved the service and fare changes to become effective February 14, 2021. DART today announced their 23rd year of partnering with the Food Bank of Delaware for
the annual “Stuff The Bus” Thanksgiving Food Drive, with a goal of collecting 20 tons of nonperishable
food for Delawareans in need of food assistance. We are looking for the public’s help
to achieve the goal.
Improved Weekend Service in New Castle County
Public transportation plays an essential role in the lives of Delawareans. It provides vital connections, bolsters the economy, improves the environment and helps to enhance our quality of life. Delaware Transit Corporation (DTC) proudly operates DART services in the First State.
Labor Day – Monday, September 7, 2020 – New this Labor Day, DART offers bus service in New Castle County on Routes 2, 4, 5, 6, 13, 15, 33, 40, and 47, using a Saturday schedule, with Paratransit operating complimentary ADA-only service. DART’s Beach Bus service and Route 305 Beach Connection will also operate, with complimentary ADA-only service for Paratransit. All other fixed route and paratransit services will not operate.
Paratransit riders can once again pay their Paratransit fare using tickets and cash starting Monday, August 31,
as the option to be billed for trips will no longer be available. Customers are encouraged to use DART Pass, the
mobile fare payment app for a contactless payment option.
